Successful Byford Workouts filly and colt

The weather was gorgeous and our two horses worked so well. Firstly the SHADOW PLAY filly from GAYLEES DELIGHT was on the track after official trials and driven by Peter (Tilly) Tilbrook, who has done a great job with these two horses in their second preparation which finishes now.

We all know the weather has not been kind the last 8 weeks but Tilly has got them to just where trainer Ross Olivieri wanted. The colt by SPORTSWRITER out of LUCK HAS IT worked second. Both of these just turned two year olds, jogged a warm up for a couple of laps and then worked over a mile.  Very happliy we can say both handled their workouts well within their comfort zones – which is excellent for their potential.  They will now get about 6 weeks rest and then their next preparation is the beginning of the “real thing” and they will be with trainer Ross Olivieri from there onwards.

Such a lot to look forward to having seen them go around so professionally yesterday. Check with Ross Waddell what shares are still available in these two, and have a look at the Gallery Page for more photos, and also their individual page for pedigree information.

Colt and Filly Public Workouts at Byford Sunday 25 September

We know it’s a long weekend but on Sunday 25 Sept immediately after Byford trials, there will be an opportunity to have a look at another two of our  2 yr olds doing their final workout of their second preparation, and before they go to the paddock again.

Ross Olivieri is the trainer of both horses being the Sportswriter colt  out of Luck Has It and the Shadow Play filly Out of Gaylees Delight. Some shares are still available and  seeing them in the flesh is always exciting with these up and coming babies!.

For those who already have shares in either or both of these two year olds, Sunday will be a nice relaxing way to catch up and chat with the two Ross’s — Olivieri and Waddell.

There are only 4 trials on Sunday so we suggest be there no later than 9am at the main pavilion (off Briggs Rd) and enjoy one of Byford’s hidden treats- the great egg and bacon toasties that Craig cooks and a coffee.

Hope to see you Sunday
